Everyone has heard a story of Cinderella, a young beautiful girl who finds her happily ever after with a charming prince. Cinderella is truly an amazing story and in the world there is a vast amount of different versions. I have always been fascinated with this fairy tale. So I have decided to embark on an adventure and within my life become acquainted with 300 different accounts of the relatively same tale.

Cinderella Skeleton by Robert D. San Souci

Cinderella Skeleton by Robert D. San Souci
Interesting. Actually this story quite creeped me out. Yet do not be surprised because I am creeped out by the slightest things... that and my mom trained me to be weirded out by skeleton stories. Well, where shall I start. Who came up with this idea? Definitely interesting. When my nieces saw this book they asked my why I got it from the library. They were puzzled by it. It says it is for ages 3-7 but my nieces would not let me read it to them. While some parts were quite entertaining, I think the writer tried too hard. Yet I must give my respect to whoever decided to think outside the box and give me an out of the norm story. All the characters are skeletons, and Cinderella's chores are to hang cobwebs and other creepy things. When troubled and wanting to go to the Halloween ball Cinderella heads out to find a witch. I guess the Halloween theme explains the pumpkin carriage. Oh and instead of her slipper being left behind her whole foot detaches.... Well I guess everyone deserves a Happily Ever After even if you are dead. Yet still the thought of a skeleton Cinderella creeps me out! I must be a girly girl. Illustrations..... interesting. Interesting, what more can I say? p.s. The story is in a rhyming form..... interesting.

But I know this book is perfect for some! My friend Laura absolutely loves it and the concept!
