This Cinderella fairy tale begins with a strong accusation.
"If you drink water and breathe air, then you have heard the story of Cinderella. And, if you drink water and breath air, you have heard it...wrong.
"There was no fairy godmother, no glass slipper. There wasn't even a prince, at least not in the way that you might think. And if you're expecting everyone to live happily ever after, you may end up being disappointed. But a happy ending isn't something that can be expected or predicted. And while it all happened long ago, the events that took place were memorable enough to stand the test of time, even if the details have been altered."
And so this story begins! But first... Sidetracked me has to take her turn in talking:
Has fate would have it, my mom gifted this book for Christmas just yesterday! I have started my college career and life! Whoa it sure is A LOT of change! I see Cinderella books all around me somehow. I look at their covers and say, Oh... Yeah... I still want to do my goal of discovering 300 stories. Well, one at a time! Looks like my mom is helping on my way!
Every time I go to write about Cinder and Ella I just think about that it sure was interesting! The fact is... my mind keeps on wondering about the author Melissa Lemon's decisions to write the story as she did. By no means I am saying that her decision to write the tell so unconventionally (if that is even the word for it) is not a wise decision. It just has me thinking! Well, just as the beginning sample I gave tells a reader should not expect the fairy godmother, a lost glass slipper, and they can't read about evil step relatives and grand pumpkin transformations. But just as tradition has it their is an unexpected journey.
I'm feeling random. So I am going to focus in on a detail I really like! There is a legend of their land that every person has a tree. As long as the tree and the human live, they will help each other to survive. Which play a cool characteristic of this tale!
